Hot springs – called “onsen” – are naturally-occurring springs of water that are warmed by underground magma. These springs have been found to be both relaxing for the mind and healing to the body.

There are three main hot springs that we sent our guests to. Each hot spring has a different view and environment, and therefore has a different effect on you.
Why Hot Springs?
Hot springs not only have relaxing effects on both the body and mind – they also have spiritual benefits as well. Hot springs provide a unique environment where people can meditate, as well as allow themselves to be less guarded and more at ease.
Tamanoyu
Tamanoyu was originally a sanatorium run by Zen priests. As such, it has a long history of being a place to help people heal. While it has been brought into the modern day, some aspects of the old sanatorium still remain.
Mt. Fuji
Easily the most sacred of the three locations, the Mt. Fuji hot spring is an ideal location to visit if you prefer an open-air soak, or if you wish to try different water depths. Its high levels of alkaline are also healing for the skin.
Karuizawa
Nestled in a scenic forest, this hot spring is a beautiful location to meditate, no matter the time of year. The location is also quite removed from crowded areas, so you’ll be able to relax your mind and be at peace for as long as you wish.
